Qualification Description
This qualification describes the skills and knowledge required for individuals working in the glass and glazing industry. It provides competencies associated with the manufacture, processing, installation and repair of glass and glazing products used in residential, commercial and industrial applications.
Graduates may undertake tasks involving measuring, cutting, processing, handling, assembling and installing glass products, as well as estimating jobs, interpreting plans and applying industry standards and codes of practice.

- Glass Processor
- Glass and Glazing
- Tradesperson
- Glass Fabricator
This qualification provides a pathway for employment within the glass and glazing industry and may support progression to higher-level qualifications in manufacturing, construction and glazing operations.

- 44 Weeks of Training and Assessment
- 8 Weeks of Scheduled Term Breaks.
Weekly Study Commitment
- 15 hours face-to-face classroom and practical training
- 5 hours Online learning activities
Total Scheduled Learning: 20 hours per week
Supplementary classes may be scheduled where required due to public holidays, missed classes, or reassessment requirements.

Students who successfully complete this qualification may progress to:
- MSF40122 Certificate IV in Glass and Glazing
- CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
Additional pathway opportunities may be available depending on individual career goals and industryrequirements.
International students must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have completed Year 12 or equivalent.
- Participate in a pre-enrolment interview and pre-training review.
- Demonstrate sufficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills.
- Provide evidence of English language proficiency equivalent to:
- IELTS Overall Band Score of 6.0; or
- An equivalent recognised English language test score.
English language evidence may also be demonstrated through previous studies completed in English, subject to college assessment requirements.
Students must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during practical training and workshop activities.
PPE may include:
- Safety boots
- High-visibility clothing
- Safety glasses
- Cut-resistant gloves
- Hard hat
- Hearing protection
- Protective clothing as required
Students must comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, safe work procedures and
trainer instructions during practical sessions. Special attention must be given to the safe handling, processing and installation of glass products.
Students must be physically capable of undertaking practical construction activities, including:
- Standing for extended periods
- Lifting and carrying construction materials
- Using hand and power tools
- Working at heights
- Performing practical tasks in workshop and simulated work environments
